The short version
We collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and we tell you plainly what happens to it. The longer version below exists because the law requires it — and because you’re entitled to it.
Who we are
blowR is a service operated by Johannson Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07760655), registered office: Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. For anything in this policy, contact us at privacy@johannson.co.uk. Johannson Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZC141258).
The two hats we wear
If you visit this website or buy blowR for your business, we are the data controller — we decide how your data is handled, and this policy explains it.
If you’ve called a business whose phone is answered by blowR, that business is the data controller and we process your data on their instructions, under a written agreement. The business you called is your first port of call for questions about your data, but everything below about security and your rights still applies, and we’ll always help.
What we collect
Website visitors
If you enquire through this site, we collect what you give us: your name, contact details and message. This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to make the site work.
Our customers
If you use blowR for your business: your contact and business details, the information you give us to set up your receptionist (services, prices, availability, approved answers), and billing records.
Callers to blowR-answered phone lines
- Call audio and transcripts. Calls are answered by an AI and transcribed so the business you called gets an accurate record. The audio of the call is held by our telephony provider, Twilio; we keep the transcript.
- Contact details and messages — your name, number and what you asked for, passed to the business you called.
- Photos and documents you choose to upload. If a picture would help (a fault, an error code), blowR may text you a secure link. Anything you upload goes only to the business you called.
Why we process it (lawful bases)
- To deliver the service — answering calls, taking messages, making bookings (performance of a contract; for caller data, our customers’ legitimate interest in having their phone answered).
- To run and improve blowR — service logs, fixing faults, preventing abuse (legitimate interests).
- To bill and keep accounts (legal obligation and contract).
- Marketing — only if you ask for it. We don’t add anyone to mailing lists uninvited (consent).
Who we share it with
No one buys, rents or borrows your data. Full stop. To run blowR we use a small number of service providers — telephony, AI speech processing, text message delivery and hosting: telephony, call audio and text messages are handled by Twilio; AI speech processing by ElevenLabs (voice) and Anthropic (language understanding); hosting by Netcetera. Each is bound by contract to handle data only on our instructions. Where any provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy decisions or the approved standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Call transcripts and messages: 12 months, unless the business you called has agreed a different period with us
- Call audio: held by Twilio for the period agreed with the business you called
- Uploaded photos and documents: 90 days
- Website enquiries: up to 12 months
- Billing records: 6 years (HMRC requires it)
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or move it elsewhere. Email privacy@johannson.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month, plainly. We won’t make you fill in forms designed to put you off.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it, and upload links are unique to each caller and expire. No system is invulnerable, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something — but we take this seriously and patch fast.
Children
blowR is a business service and this site isn’t aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect children’s data.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes, and if the change matters we’ll say so prominently rather than burying it.
